Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Billing dispute Iowa
My son went online to order a free credit report. the website offered a FICO score for $1.00, so I offered to pay for the FICO score, and input my credit card information. Unbeknownst to me Experian now had my credit card information and proceeded to enroll my son in a credit monitoring monthly service for $ -/month. I did not select a box, or approve of this charge to my credit card. Experian is using FCRA and FACT ACT for their financial benefit. If you go online and search if others are having this same issue, under the Consumer Affairs website, you will find a lot of complaints about the same scam, but people do n't follow-up on it - they just pay for the fraudulent charge, and have it cancelled. I would like the CFPB to investigate these tactics, and ensure that the free credit report that the FACT ACT guarantees is not exploiting consumers. To manage this situation, for the -/-/- charge, I disputed the charge with my credit company, which took several weeks and extended efforts on my part. The credit card company closed down my credit card, and issued a new account number because Experian now had my credit information. Before they could close out the account, Experian charged me for a -/-/- $21.00, which I am now disputing with Experian once I get my old credit card account number from -. I want Experian to provide me restitution for the time and efforts I have had to put into this situation - restituting consumers for time and effort my cause them to manage their business with integrity.
