Incorrect information on credit report account status
JPMorgan Chase & Co. Credit reporting department,
Incorrect information on credit report Account status Illinois
Please help. I filed a dispute with the credit reporting agencies about a balance still being reported as outstanding, after it was cancelled and forgiven by Chase. Also I received a - from Chase for tax reporting, but now Chase is saying that I still owe them even though they issued me a - with a code ( g ) of no further collections. I am reporting this as income for the year 2015. So I 'm confused. I thought that once the - is issued that Chase would show the balance as - on my credit reports, but now they are saying that I still owe them and have to report it as income. So I 'm confused. If I have to pay taxes for the - issued amount by Chase, should n't the balance be reported as ( - ) - balance on my credit reports and is it correct to be reported as a debt and as income? I see this as double reporting. So I do n't understand. If you could help me with resolving this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
