On - - I checked my credit through annual credit report to see if a foreclosure had been removed. I selected Experian as the agency. When I went to check the credit they wanted to charge $4.00 extra to get my credit score. In small fine print it said they were signing me up for a credit monitoring service, but I was not clearly made aware of this. I also was not informed that a charge outside the original agreed upon $4.00 was going to hit my credit card on -/-/2016. On -/-/2016 I was charged $19.00 by Experian. On -/-/2016 I saw the charged and called to ask why I was being charged. The agent on the phone informed me that I signed up for the service. I told him I had no knowledge of signing up for the service and that they never informed me I was about to be charged. The agent refused to refund my money for the service that I had never used and said they had documentation proving I signed up for it. I do n't think they should be allowed to sign people up for a service who are coming form annualcreditreport.com especially when they do n't make it very clear that getting the credit score is also signing you up for their service. To then refuse to refund money for the service when it was never used after getting the score is again invalid. They are clearing trying to scam people by automatically signing them up the service and then stealing their money by refusing to give them a refund once they realize they were signed up. I plan to dispute this with the credit card they charged, but I have a feeling the credit company will side with them and they are probably in on the scam. I ca n't refuse to pay the credit card company for the charge if they side with experian or I will ruin my credit.
