Credit reporting company's investigation Problem with statement of dispute California

I disputed the information twice on Transunion as fraud, they investigated and failed to remove. I called the collection company ( - ) and they refered me to -. I called and it was not event my name or social security number, they claimed mistaken identity, yet this was on my credit rating, and I contested this??? What kind of investigation was done, and why is there so much incompetence? - said that I should be getting this removed and a confirmation letter in a few days all I got out of them was - - and - -, in -, T- was where the bill came from. They assured me it was not idenity theft as this person did not have my SSN, was the claim, but then how did this occur??? Please investigate this and follow up # - in the amount of $780.00 - -.
