At issue is a - account from -. The debt collection company, Stellar Recovery, is attempting to collect a debt that was never owed, and illegally trying to do so. The - account in question was closed in - or - of - and all equipment was returned to the local - office. - billed me for the equipment in - -, and I contacted - to deal with it ( proving that I had returned the equipment ) to put the issue behind me, or so I had thought. Stellar Recovery must have bought this " claim '' against me in the past year because I started receiving an overwhelming amount of calls from them at all hours of the day. I told them that there was no claim here, but they continued to contact me until I told


I, again, thought this was behind me. I was checking my credit report today and notice that there is an unpaid collection that was filed in - of - by Stellar Recovery in the amount that they assert. Note, that even if Stellar Recovery had a valid claim, it was no longer legally enforceable because the Tennessee statute of Limitations had run its course ( limit of 6 years that runs from when the demand could have been made ). This is outrageous and unacceptable. Stellar Recovery is attempting to strongarm me into paying a debt that I never owed based on what is a clerical error at best, and an outright lie at worst. Moreover, as a company that specializes in debt collection, they are well aware of statutes of limitation, it is my contention that they are intentionally misrepresenting the collectability of the debt to the credit bureaus, and that the report should be removed.
