I got divorced in -. Trying to get my name off of my second mortgage without forcing the ex husband to refinance because it would make it to where he could n't afford the house. I have been requesting a release of liability from CitiMortgage since - -, -. I have spent over 20 hours on hold. Been transferred from - department to another and been told conflicting information concerning the release and an assumption. According the federal - - - - - of - a refinance ca n't be forced on - spouse due to a divorce. I believe CitiMortgage should let him assume full responsibility for the mortgage and provide a release of liability to me.
