Amex Credit card department,
I applied for the Amercian Express card. I have charged - dollars on the card. Because of a bad service I decided to cancel card after couple of weeks. I cut the american express card. When I received the bill and wanted to pay it through bill pay, American Express bill did not have the full account number. I called and requested that my account number be sent to my home address on record after answering all the security questions. American Express refused and insisted on getting my own financial information over the phone. I am not comfortable giving my bank information to a customer service rep who might be in a different country. I am concerned that not paying the bill on time will affect my credit history which is excellent. I just need the account number to pay the bill and they are refusing. All other major credit card companies have the account number of the bill. I do n't understand the problem.
