A collection company sent a letter stating that I owe $900.00 for a cell phone from - - -. The collection company is First National Collection Bureau , Inc. located at - - -, -, - - but the return address is a PO Box , - -, in - -. I have never had a - account and I have been with the same company for almost 21 years now. Also, the address I live at is a home, and they added an apartment #. I think this is a scam, and I worry about older people being taken advantage of or other people falling for this. Letter states : This is to advise you that your delinquent account has been assigned to our office for collection by the above mentioned current creditor. ( - - - ) Unless you notify this office within 30 day after receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of this
a copy of the judgment and mail you a copy of such judgment or verification. If you request of this office is writing within 30 days after receiving this notice this office- will provide you with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.
