U.S. Bancorp Credit Card Complaint

Balance transfer fee

U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,

Balance transfer fee Oregon

I was sent a letter from Homestreet bank that I was pre-approved for a credit card and that I could apply online. When filling out the online application I saw the offer for a balance transfer and completed the steps. When filling out the creditor information and the amount, there was no prompt that stated there would be fee or a recalculation of my total that included a fee. Today I received my first bill and saw that I had been billed $130.00 for the - balance transfers that I had completed. Right away I logged onto my online account to review the terms of the balance transfer, to my surprise the only option was to requested a mailed copy of them and wait 5-7 days. I then attempted to do another balance transfer to see if I would be informed of the fee at this point, the website says " Balance Transfers are subject to the terms and conditions, including applicable fees, as previously disclosed in your Cardmember Agreement and/or promotional offer ( if applicable ) made to you. '' This is very deceptive, it does not clearly state what the fee is, how it is assets or even if for sure it will be billed. It refers you to your terms and conditions, a document this company assumes customers will just keep on hand. I called the company and was told that they can not waive the fee because it is valid, that if I had called a spoke with a rep to do the balance transfer then I would have been told over the phone of the fee. Or if I pay off the balance transfer in 30 days then they would waive it. I will pay the fee, if I have to. I just want this company to do better, I think the way this fee is billed is not in a way that is clear to customers and that is not fair. No one should receive their first statement and be surprised.
