I opened a CD with Apple Bank two years ago. The CD was set to mature on -/-/15. I did not receive any notice in the mail as would be expected. I went to the bank today to close out the CD and they told me it was too late, it was locked in again. They said it locked in after 5 days and did not care that no notice was issued prior. They wanted to force me to renew for another year and charged a high penalty.
