I received a call from a young man who never identified himself he just asked for me by name and asked me to verify my DOB and SSN # before he could inform me of the purpose of him calling. I told him I would not be verifying any personal information and asked that he not contact me again if he could not inform me of who he was and the purpose he called for, as well as the company he represented. This man yelled to me " - you need to pay your - bills then, I told your - - I needed to verify your - but you keep running your - Mouth. '' I honestly thought this was a bad joke? No it was real I heard a call center background and laughter and then I heard a female in the background say to him " I hope there is no one on the other end of that line, because you just violated federally mandated laws as well as codes and ethical policies here. '' Then the phone hung up, so I called the number back. This representative ( I called the number to verify it was a place of business after, his outburst over the phone towards me ). The company is NCA- National Credit Adjusters, I stayed on the line and spoke with another ( different ) representative who I told about the incident and asked that I never be contacted by them again, he was as upset as I was and asked me to hold for him to get a supervisor, but we got disconnected and I had to go to work.
