I have a Signature Student loan through Navient that was originally obtained when I was a - student at - of New Jersey - - - -. I have been trying to defer/forbear this loan for the last several months ( I am currently an - ) and have not had success despite submitting - sets of paperwork that were 'signed off ' on by my -. I was told that the - set of paperwork was 'not the correct type ' and was given another set of paperwork to complete. After the last set of paperwork was submitted, I received emails stating that the paperwork had been 'declined '. When I called Navient, the representatives I spoke to seemed surprised and stated that this 'should have been the correct paperwork ' but that they 'had been having computer problems '. I was reassured that the paperwork was 'about to go through '. All of this occurred -/-/2015. It is now -/-/2015 and the loan still has not been deferred. If this loan can not be deferred for some reason, I would appreciate if somebody would just tell me this rather than having me submit paperwork over and over again. If it can be deferred, I would imagine that I have submitted enough paperwork at this point for a deferral to be carried out.
