False statements or representation Indicated committed crime not paying Pennsylvania
I have been contacted by - separate companies in the past 6 months claiming that I owe a debt. Even though I did n't belive I owed the debt, I paid almost $900.00 to the first debt collector because I was threatened. Then less than 2 months later, I got a call from a - company trying to collect on the same debt. They informed me that the - company didnt own the debt ''. I did some research and determined that - companies were fraudulent. Upon learning this, my bank refunded the payment that I made. Now, my family members are receiving calls from a - company looking for me for the same debt '' ( this company has never called me personally ). I have documents from all of the companies. All of which appear to be official but after researching business names, addresses and phone numbers, nothing matches. Also, I requested proof of debt to be mailed to me, but they claim that they do n't have to ability to mail me anything ... .they can only email. I want all of these calls to stop and I would like to see if there is any course of action that I have for the harrassment.
