Amex Credit card department,
Quite simple:1. Amex canceled my company 's business card based on an assumption that they concede was in error. 2. In canceling the card, the points associated with the card were forfeited. 3. All attempts to remedy the issue with Amex failed. 4. I was very reluctant to pay the balance because of the points that were forfeited and insisted that the points as well as the card be reinstated. Remember Amex admits that the original issue was due to an error on their part.
6. The agreement would then require Amex to reinstate the card as well as the forfeited points. 7. Although I continued to pay down the balance, Amex did not adhere to what was agreed. 8. Consequently, Amex, although this was a business card, moved the balance of the business card to my personal credit profile as a delinquency/collection. 9. This has resulted in a precipitous drop in my credit score. Note : As I remember, the relationship between Amex and myself spanned nearly 10 years if not longer without a single issue or late payment.
