I was evicted from an apartment. I was - at the time and received no documentation. Later, when I tried to rent another apartment, they agreed to rent on the condition that I pay my former eviction fees. The former apt referred me to their collection agency. I called that agency, was told the amount owed and began making payments immediately. This was all done over the phone and I was given no documentation from anyone at the time. Recently, I happened across the - - Court 's judgement on that evection and found it was for $1500.00 rather than the $2800.00 I had been charged by the collection agency. As I have already paid $1900.00, if the judgement is the correct amount then I have already overpaid by $360.00 - I wrote the collection agency for documentation and they returned a list of charges, but I do n't know which amount they are truly authorized to charge me. Which is correct : do I continue to pay on the $2800.00 amount or ask for a $360.00 refund? I am enclosing the - - - - of Actions, my letter to the coolection agency, and their reply.
