Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Don't agree with fees charged California

In 2007 my son was trying to secure a private student loan from - - - ( now defunct ). I agreed to help and signed papers to authorize a credit check and a master promissory note, which did not show any interest rate, fees, etc. A week or so after that, I received aFederal Truth in Lending Disclosure. Up to that point I had NO knowledge of the interest rate or total Finance charges. Once I received it, I refused to sign it due to the extraordinarily high interest and fees. My son contacted - immediately and told them that I would not approve it, but they told him that he could proceed with the loan without my approval, which he did and received a check made out to him ONLY ( unlike a private student loan, which I DID co-sign ). Since then my son defaulted on the loan and my credit has been ruined by the loan administrator, American Educational Services ( AES ), who have perpetuated this fraud by -.


The note was initially handled by AES and I received copies from AES of all of the materials involved including the Federal Truth In Lending form WITHOUT my signature. At this time AES has informed me that ownership of the has been transferred - - ( aka, - ), but I can not even verify this as my dozens of requests to that organization have been ignored. I need my name removed from this note as a co-signer as I never agreed to the terms of this loan.
