I was sent an offer letter to collect a debt resulting from checking account bank fees related to a closed account with -. I did not have time to verify the debt but paid it given based on the offer to reduce the debt with - payments of $64.00 ( $320.00 total ). I paid $65.00 x - times and $63.00 for the last payment ( totaled $320.00 ). However, the collection agency did not acknowledge the offer they made and wanted to collect the entire balance of $800.00. I sent - requests to acknowledge that I accepted the offer with the last - payments but did not receive any response.
