Closing/Cancelling account New York
My HSBC business accounts were closed by the bank in 2013, so I personally and specifically asked them to close my personal accounts as well. Last month, I received a statement from them for an open credit card account. It had no billed amounts or balances but it showed the account still open. I 'm concerned that an open account with no activity might pose a security risk and I do not wish to take responsibility for that. Also, it could cause trouble for me if I choose to take a mortgage. Should they choose to close it, it could impact my credit at a time that I need it.
