Encore Capital Group Debt collection department,

I do not know Improper contact or sharing of info Contacted me after I asked not to Maryland

I lived in a rental apartment, and a previous tenant ( who I 've never met ) apparently owes a creditor money. I recently purchased a house and moved to another county. The creditor 's attorney 's listed my new home as the address of the guy who owes them money. I have returned multiple letters, and recently a process server showed up on my door. I told him that person does not live here and I have never known him. I contacted the creditor 's attorney and demanded that they cease this contact ( since they clearly have the wrong address ), and to remove my address in the case file with the court. I received an email from the attorney stating that they would remove my address from the case. Apparently they did not, because I am still receiving mail on this case, and now there is a motion filed with the courts ( by the creditor 's attorney ) to change the jurisdiction of the case up here to where I live. I am being harassed and incriminated at my new house all because some guy who owes them money rented an apartment that I later moved into once he left.
