Other (phone, health club, etc.) Taking/threatening an illegal action Sued w/o proper notification of suit North Carolina

I was contacted by a female from Meade and Associates on -/-/2015 in regards to a balance owed to - in the amount of $150.00. I spoke to a lady who inquired about a payment she stated that agreed to make in -. I never stated a firm payment date with this company and stated that I 'll will make a payment on the website sometime in -. A definite date was never supplied nor confirmed to the company. The female proceeded to insist that I agreed to make a payment on a specific date in - and began arguing with me. During the conversation, she stated that if I do n't make the payment today, I would be sued and would have to go to night court. This company has not provided the proper documentation notifying me of a possible lawsuit if the debt is not paid. I have yet to receive any such notice nor a notice from Meade and Associates of the current balance owed or the alleged payment arrangement. The female stated that I last spoke with them on -/-/2015. It 's now -/-/2015!!! Now, I being threatened with a lawsuit for $150.00? The level of hostility the female expressed was unnecessary for the amount of the debt. Especially, when I initiated the contact to learn how I can resolve the debt. If I did n't want to pay off the debt, I never would 've contacted them in the first place in -.
