Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
I bought a sleep number bed -/-/-. My account was sold to different banks a couple times throughout the payout portion. I eventually fell behind, totally my fault. -/-/- I was contacted by a law office to collect the debt. I agreed to pay about $20.00 every two weeks. This has been over two years ago, and I called for my balance today. The original debt was $1200.00, I have paid over $1200.00 in the years I have been paying, but still owe about $2400.00. I called the attorney 's office and they informed me that my debt was $3600.00 when they got it. I pulled my credit report and called every bank that has had this loan/credit account, and none of them can tell me where the $2000.00 came from. I feel I have paid my debt back, and do n't mind paying some fees, but $2000.00 on a $1200.00 debt seems insane.
