Took out a car loan in - with CPS. Car was paid off in - and I relieved the title to my car. Upon looking at my credit reports in - this year, they were reporting the status of this loan as charged off/collections and settled in full. I attempted by phone and by certified mail to correct this matter. I asked for proof that this was settled in full and not paid in full. Also asked for proof of the charge off/collections since this was news to me. As far as I knew, this loan was paid off normally. No charge off, no collections and not settled in full. On -/-/- they sent a letter back to me stating that what they are reporting is accurate and supplied an account ledger of the payment history and a copy of the loan contract. Nowhere did they include my what I requested which was the proof of the charge off/collections and when did this take place. I also asked about a settlement that CPS was involved with that stated they were overcharging its customers and that they were to compensate people that had loans with them during the time of my loan due to the settlement they reached. I saw no compensation and again they brushed off my question. CPS is under the impression that I am disputing the validly of this past debt which I 'm not. I 'm disputing how they are reporting inaccurate information yet feel like they do not have to answer to how they report erroneous items. My car was paid in full and was never charged off. I never received notice of such a thing and when I made my last payment, a few weeks later they mailed me the title to my vehicle.
