I live in - but previously I was taking care of my Dad who passed away -/-/- While taking care of him a debt collection and attorney in - got a garnishment against my wages for a debt that was in -/-/-. I was in major car accident and therefore on -. I tried to resolve some debts but lost my home and job due to accident in -/-/-. The attorney knows all this but somehow in a state I am not in was able to get the debt legalized and now is coming after me. I am - and my husband is -. I do not live with my husband as we are separated ( not legally ). I was never served court documents and I found out the attorney got the state to sign for my court documents. Why isnt this stuff done here in the state I am in is this legal?? They now have a hold of my bank account ( total is - dollars ) and my lock box which holds personal items what can I do to stop what is happening.
