Amex Credit card department,
I keep filing complaints with cpb but nothing happens. American Express continues to ignore our requests to itemize and show charges. All the responses from themsay the attorney worked with me, and she would not evengive her phone number or talk to me or discuss anything. My card has been compromised three times, and three timesI have had to have it replaced. There are also charges formoney, or rather a balance amount that is unsubstantiated. All I ask is to see where the charges came from - well, where the amount of money came from as it has grown andwe pay in full each month all new charges, yet the amountunexplained grows, It began -/-/- with $260.00, and now is over $1700.00. Every sixty days
to pay, and they refused to do a chargeback. And even that is oddbecause their records show an amount near to that addedand subtracted -/-/- and we were told by theexecutive office we owed nothing on that, Yet it is alsostill on the bill with no charge ever reinstated in blackand white - not anywhere. This is completely wrong, and Iknow a company can not say you owe something withoutthem substantiating the charge ( s ). All we want to seeis where they are getting these totals, because we havebeen running spread sheets and have paid off this accountin full each and every month since -/-/-. Also, they keep saying the fraud department will contact me, and the fraud department never does, I have written 60letters now, and nothing - and I have even written- - who just has someone tell me sorry. but the attorney has resolved this - all she didwas tell me she was closing the file, and this was withoutany explanation or investigation. If they have that, then they should show me. Common sense and the lawdo not require anyone to pay an unsubstantiated bill, and all I get is the veiled threat of if I want something, then Ineed to file a legal action to get it - including the recordingsthey have of conversations with the executive office thatwould prove part of what I have told them was promised me, namely the - $210000.00 credit that I do see twice in - on the statement, or at least amounts near to it, addedand then subtracted. None of this makes sense. I have tolitigate for them to give me proof? I have to litigate for themto show me in black and white charges of over $1700.00 that Icannot find or see? This is wrong, I thought cfpb wassupposed to protect consumers. I get nothing but the sameletter sent over and over again from American Express. We do not mind paying what we owe, but we need to seethe actual line item charges. American Express refusesto show us the actual line item charges for what they say weowe. The reason? There are no actual charges that havebeen made by us - none that match what they say we owe. We pa all new charges every month and we pay what weowe. We should not be threatened or blackmailed, haveto spend hors on the phone and periodically have our rewardspoints confiscated because they arbitrarily take the disputeoff the books every sixty days. This is wrong. I am anattorney. I know this is a violation of law, but no one seemsto care - and they just get away with this - multiply me by - people and that is a lot of money gong somewhere, and if it is going to a fraud, American Express gets apercentage of that fraud - They ca n't lose, even in the faceof fraud. This is an inherent conflict of interest, causinga very bad thing, slowly and over the course of time. Theproof is in the pudding.
