Amex Credit card department,
SUBJECT : American Express Blue Cash Everyday credit card payment processing/ misrepresented due date/ delay in posting/ late fee and possible erroneous credit reporting consequences. Electronic payments by my bank are not posted when received by American Express, but delayed by 2-3 days. This means that the DUE DATE is not the due date shown on the statement, but a couple of days earlier unless and only if paid on their website. This forces the consumer to pay at least 4-5 days early to be assured of timely payment, even if EFT. THERE IS NO LEGAL E-PLANATION FOR THIS, that is just how it is, as explained by them. So, my payment is recorded when it is convenient for them instead of when funded in their bank, leaving the consumer at risk of unwarranted late fees and possible credit problems. On the day this account was opened, applicant had a FICO score of -. This will be monitored for deterioration that may occur due to AME- bad practice and included as an additional complaint if true.
