Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Ohio
I have been having problems with Navient Private Student Loans. Every time I contact them to provide me with information and help I am told one thing by one person. I call back to speak with that same person and I have their extensions and id numbers but I am always transferred to someone new and they say that I am unable to speak with the previous person. I have been told several things about lowering my bill all have been different from the last. I am unable to pay the insane monthly payment of $1300.00 they said they could lower to just interest payments at $1000.00 something. I was told they could even lower that but I would have to wait until my bill is 1 day past due or more so I would be in default then they could lower my payments. I asked if they could just do it now and the last - people have told me that I have to skip a payment in order to do that. The first person said I could lower it to only $700.00 a month for the first 12 months which would help out the most but now they are saying not guarantees and that I can not even be assessed for that until I am past due. They are charging extremely high interest rate ( 12-14 % ) and I do not even remember agreeing to those high of terms. Something seems very off about the whole thing and process they are taking. I talked to them about doing a debt settlement because i had contacted a law firm, - -, and the debt settlement payments would only be $1000.00 a month so way lower than Navient. All of my loans were done through - - and now it says Navient.
