Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Maine

I received - scholarship to go to school, however I lost it mid way into my - year. They demanded I pay back all - I owed them ( them being the - ) which of course I did not have the means to at the time. It was sent to collections at which point it was tacked up to -. The new agency refused my offer to make payments that I could afford and instead sent it to a new new collections agency after a few months. The new agency put a new fee on it, bringing it up to -. Once again I contacted them and was told to enter into a repayment plan I would need to pay - a month. If I ca n't make this new plan, it will likely be passed to a new collections agency and a new fee will be assesed. I only make $14.00 an hour and my wages are being garnished, not to mention I 'm still paying off the federal loans I took out to finish college. I consulted with a bankruptcy attorney, but was told that it would likely not work due to the fact that the funds were used for educational purposes. I feel as though I will never get out from under this, or have credit for that matter. A college education was not worth this crushing debt. - collections agencys seem to be completely unwilling to work with me.
