Amex Credit card department,
A man named - - called my new husband trying to collect a debt for American Express. He did not identify the agency he worked for. I already filed a complaint against the agency for illegal debt collection practices. My husband told him that American Express agreed to let me pay them directly when I get my financial settlement from my ex husband. He pursued the matter. My husband told him to call American Express. He said he would be calling me back until the debt was collected. I am tired of these people harrassing me and trying to bully me with threats of turning the matter over to a lawyer. A lawyer is the reason I can not pay the bill right now, my ex husband. These people need to be put out of business, or fined for every consumer complaint. The company response to my prior complaint was that they did nothing wrong. What else would an internatl audit by the agency itself determine? Better laws need to be made for debt collection practices and they need to be enforced. They assume they are dealing with ignorant people, but not this time. I will pursue this matter until the company is stopped.
