Credit card Taking/threatening an illegal action Sued w/o proper notification of suit Maryland

I was sent a letter by - - - , - that stated that a lawsuit was filed against me as the defendant and Midland as the plantiff. I called Midland and they said that yes they filed a lawsuit but I never received anything in the mail or was served a summons. -, an employee at Midland, stated that it was filed but was not entered yet. I asked for the case number and she stated that it had n't gotten that far but, - - - has a case number. The case number that they said was filed was -. - at Midland stated that the case was sent to the District Court of Maryland - County but they do not have a case number and that the case number should appear in a couple more days. She said the case was filed on -/-/2015. I went on Maryland Case Search and have not found such a case number. I was scared that they would garnish my wages as the letter from - - - said could happen. I agreed to terms that was out of my realm of ability to pay based on the lawsuit that Midland and - - said was filed against me.
