Closing/Cancelling account West Virginia

On - I accessed MY credit reports from the - credit bureaus and found a credit card account which was opened at - in the name of - - -, my mother showing as Open ''. My mother passed away on -/-/- and as the Personal Representative '' of the estate I contacted - who services the account under the name of Elan Financial '' credit card of her death via written correspondence dated -/-/- and -/-/- providing them copies of her death certificate and the


this account was even on MY credit bureau records but more importantly that the account had been paid in full in -/-/- and at least should have shown as Closed ''. I further advised her I had received correspondence dated -/-/- from - - - at - - - -, - - -, -, MN - Reference Number - who was acting as the collection department for Elan Financial confirming that the account was settled and that Elan Financial would be filing a - with the IRS. She stated that she had no record of receiving any information naming me as the estate representative and could not discuss the account details over the phone. I advised her they had been provide to - - - already and i would not send them again. She further stated I would have to sent written requests for the matter to be considered and she was unable to help me. I stated that the complaint was false information on MY credit reports and saw no reason that they were unable and unwilling to access the account in question without discussing it with me and find the account was closed and to notify all three credit bureaus of that fact. Again she stated she would do nothing unless I made written requests.
