Citibank Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer New York
My name is - - and I am $100000.00 in debt. My entire life I was told that I should go to college. I was told I would not get a good job without a degree. My dream was to go to - and when I found - - - I thought my dream had come true. The Financial Aid offices said I could go there as long as I took out loans. I was told that once I got my degree I would be able to pay them back based on my income and I would make enough to support myself and pay back my loans ; none of which are true. I began working full time to support myself and ended up needing to drop down to - credits and spent a fifth year getting my degree. If I did n't work I would 've had to leave. My 2nd year-4th year I officially moved to -, was paying New York taxes but I could not become a NY resident despite this and was still subject to out of state tuition which was significantly higher. I disputed this several times but as long as I was in college
My interest rates vary from 3 % to 10 %. A few years back I spent 1 month out of work and requested a temporary deferment on my loans. I knew I could resume in 30 days time and just needed a one month delay. Citibank sold - of my loans to - who then hiked my interest rate up to 10.875 % There is no end in sight for me. I will never own any property. I wo n't get married. I am stuck in an endless cycle refusing to default as my father was my cosigner. This is my life.
