I purchased a CD in - 2000 from - - in the amount of $5000.00. I went to Wells went to Wells Fargo to cash it in and they told me they had no record of due to theit due to the fact that the banks had changed/merged over time. I wastold too much time had elapsed that it was either send to unclaimed property orcashed by me long ago. I do not recall cashing it in! When they checkedunclaimed property they had no record of it being sent to them. I was told that the bank records do n't go back that far in time. I was also told a letter was sent tome back when ''. I did not receive any correspondence regarding this CD. Where is my money. The bank ca n't just say it was turned over tounclaimed property '' or '' their records do n't go back that far ''. I feel thatthe bank should PROVE to me that it was either cashed, or give me mymoney plus interest. They just ca n't say well we do n't have it or haveany record of it. It is their responsibility. I have the CD.
