Vehicle loan Problems when you are unable to pay Illinois

I have become between 30-45 days late on my auto loan. Gateway one is attempting to collect the debt. I spoke with a supervisor, - - today who told me my only option was to pay $470.00 today or my account would be out of his hands and reviewed for other action. I offered to make a payment dated for Friday - a mere 3 days later and was told that is unacceptable. - was vague and dismissive regarding what the next action would be.
