Citibank Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Washington
This complaint is against Citi Student Loans : I had a loan with the company from -/-/- - -/-/-. I recently requested a complete break down of my charges because I wanted to make sure I was n't overcharged. I got some of the documentation I requested and immediately determined that the - time interest was capitalized on my loan -/-/- that I was overcharged by $37.00. So I called the company to point this out to them and the representatives told me I had to submit in writing how much I thought I was overcharged by and they would look in to it. I explained I had only looked and the very - time interest was capitalized and stopped there because if I was overcharged at that point then everything going forward would have been overcharged. I was again told I need to submit a figure I thought I was overcharged. So I asked if I was being told I had to take the time to calculate the figures for the entire loan including every single payment made over the 5 years I was making payments and I was told that was correct. I told the representative that I 'm pointing out the mistake in the beginning and based on that the company should look over my entire loan, and to ask me to do it and if I do n't that nothing will be done was not acceptable. This treatment seems to be illegal or at least unfavorable to the customer.
