I am filing a complaint against greater California financial services because they are illegally trying to collect on a - - credit card debt that is not valid and also past its statutes of limitations. The credit card account was charged off seven years ago and it is not shown as reported on my credit report as of -/-/15. When the company first contacted me last year, they misinformed me who they were staring they were a law firm as a scare tactic. Since then, I have written a cease and desist letter along with a zombie debt letter but they continue to demand payment. Not only are they saying I owe this debt but they are claiming I owe - the amount of the original debt. The original amount was $12000.00 and now they claim I owe $24000.00. I am in the process of re-financing my home but can not move forward without resolving this matter because the company has a lien against me.
