U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
Last year I accepted - balance transfers from my - credit card administered by US Bank. The promotional 0 % rate was to end with the - 2015 statement which closed on - -, 2015 - at which point the interest rate would increase to 17.99 %. On the -/-/- statement the remaining balances were listed as $410.00, $1400.00, and $1300.00. On - - and - - I paid $1600.00 and $1000.00 respectively to US Bank in order to decrease the amount that would be charged the high rate, believing that after the minimum payment was met the additional amount would be credited to the highest rate balances. On the - 2015 statement I found that the $2600.00 had been credited to other balances with 0 % rates. There were interest charges totaling $51.00 on the - balances in question whose interest rate had increased from 0 % to 17.99 %. Nothing had gone towards paying off these balances. On - - I called US bank. Both the initial customer service representative and her supervisor told me that the $2600.00 had been paid too soon as the 17.99 % interest rate would not kick in until the -/-/- statement and that there was nothing they could do to help me. I do not see how this can be correct as there was already a $51.00 interest charge on these balances. I asked to speak to a Manager and was told that one would contact me, but no one has called. Could you please help me resolve this issue. Thank you.
