Amex Credit card department,
I opened a credit card with American Express with the express purpose of transferring a balance from another American Express product. This was clearly stated in the conversation that I had with the American Express representative. Not only did she state that I could transfer the balance, but that it would also be allowed under the 0 % for 6 months offer that they were running. I opened an - account at that time. When I called to transfer the balance, they told me that they could not transfer balances between American Express products. They offered no remediation. I subsequently closed both my new Blue '' card and my American Express Green '' card. I still have the - True Earnings '' card that was the original card from which I wished to transfer the balance. I feel that the American Express agent selling me the credit product intentionally committed fraud to make a sale. I have reported this to their own fraud department who refuses to call be back at this writing.
