Amex Credit card department,
I filed bankruptcy in -/-/-, and it was discharged in -/-/-. I had a platinum card with American Express that was included in the filing. I have been fairly successful rebuilding my credit, but each time I have tried to get a card with AME-, even a corporate card, I was denied due to having an outstanding balance. When I have called in to inquire about my denial, they have indicated that I could get a card, if I paid off my old balance. That does n't seem right.
