Amex consumers have reported over 26 official complaints related to Bankruptcy. Out of the 26 consumer complaints against Amex, 27% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Amex responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 0% of consumer complaints against Amex resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 4% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

September 15, 2016 - I filed for chapter - protection 5 years ago and discharged/paid off the protection. I tried to get a home equity loan for repairs because a negitve by American Express still on my report that should be removed since they were - of the creditors that were part of the bankruptcy. Why is this negative report still on my credit report.... |

April 26, 2016 - On -/-/2016 I applied for an American Express Everyday card. I received an email stating that my application was pending. I got notification later that day that my application was declined due to past account closures with American Express. I called into American Express on -/-/2016 to discuss the declined application, the informed me that my application was declined due to prior accounts being charged off in Bankruptcy, and that until I paid them back to American Express, American Express would not issue me another credit card ( much different then what the letter I received state... |
June 29, 2015 - I filed bankruptcy in -/-/-, and it was discharged in -/-/-. I had a platinum card with American Express that was included in the filing. I have been fairly successful rebuilding my credit, but each time I have tried to get a card with AME-, even a corporate card, I was denied due to having an outstanding balance. When I have called in to inquire about my denial, they have indicated that I could get a card, if I paid off my old balance. That does n't seem right. ... |
