I used the Synchrony Bank financing offered by my plumbing company to pay the bill for the major repairs they made when a pipe burst in my rental house - -. I chose the 6 mo/0 % interest option expecting the insurance claim plus my wages from tutoring would cover it. A few days later, the claim was denied. If I failed to pay in - months, the interest rate would go up to 26.99 %, so the plumbing company Operations Manager agreed to change my contract to the 14.99 % revolving option. We made that revision - - and he faxed it to Synchrony Bank as he customarily did. But, the - - statement from Synchrony Bank still showed the charge with - month financing. I called Synchrony Bank 's Customer Care '' line and had a lengthy chat on - - the agent said only the
Customer Care '' department. I called the plumbing company immediately and their Operations Manager then called the Merchant Care '' line and was told the change would be made if he re-sent the revised contract by fax which he did that day. Nothing was changed. When the Synchrony Bank statement arrived, I would call Customer Care '', chat again longer each time and would be told the same thing as the month before. Again, I would call the Operations Manager who would call Synchrony Bank 's Merchant Care '' and be told they did not have any paperwork that showed the finance option terms were revised, so the Operations Manager would re-send all the documents the agent wanted. Now, the - - deadline is very close. Both the Operations Manager and I are very frustrated with Synchrony Bank. I ca n't help but default on their - month contract because my tutoring job ended. I live on a low fixed income, so I ca n't possibly pay the entire amount by then. The default will be bad for my credit, but more than anything else, I 'm worried because I wo n't be able to make the high interest payments if Synchrony Bank wo n't change the finance option.
