Commonwealth Financial Systems, Inc. Debt collection department,
Medical Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Florida
On -/-/- I received a debt collection letter stating I owed Commonwealth Financial Systems $300.00 for a debt at - - which I have never heard of. I was asked to notify their office in writing if I disputed the validity of the debt within 30 days of me receiving the debt collection letter. I disputed the validity of the debt and asked for verification that this debt truly belonged to me. I asked for a break down of services provided. I also asked them to please not place anything on my credit report until the dispute was resolved. I did all of this in writing and sent the letter certified mail. Commonwealth Financial Systems received my letter on -/-/-, well within my 30 day allotment. On -/-/- I checked my credit report to find that they reported it to all - bureaus which of course caused a - point drop in my score. Once I noticed that they did indeed place the collection account on my credit and I still had n't received any mail validating the account I called their office. Once I reached a representative they confirmed that they did in fact receive my debt validation letter but did n't have any information to provide me about the debt owed. The only thing the representative could tell me was that he assumed it was a medical bill from -/-/- but could n't provide anything else. I asked who to contact for an itemized bill stating services provided on that day and was told to contact - - -. I asked for contact information for - but the representative told me he could n't provide that information. I also explained that the certified letter I mailed them stated not to place any information on my credit report until the dispute was resolved. However, since this request was not obliged by Commonwealth Financial Systems in addition to the fact that I still have no information in regards to the debt I let the representative know that I would be filling a complaint and ended my conversation.
