Afni, Inc. Debt collection department,
Other (phone, health club, etc.) Improper contact or sharing of info Talked to a third party about my debt Pennsylvania
- - - had an outstanding debt for $710.00, which was news to me. I learned this information in - - and further found it to be true when I located it on my credit score. Having disconnected my account with - - - in - - when I switched to cheaper rates with - -, I decided to investigate the claim - - In contacting - - -, they told me that I had a delinquent bill on - -, - and reiterated an amount of $710.00 ; however, they were unable to provide me with physical proof of said bill as the finance department can only send a hard copy of an account 's bill to the address on record, which, they told me, was in -. Having never - lived in -, I found this quite odd - and, furthermore, I was unable to acquire the exact address ( as they can only verify the address and not actually tell me what they had listed ). So, right off the bat, I 'm prevented from receiving a physical copy ( in any format ) of the actual, original delinquent bill for which I 'm being charged. Personally,
fraudulent as it is n't quantifiable in the any physical way ; though it does n't end there ... - - I tracked the creditors that have since purchased this specific debt, which includes - in - - and - - in - -. Neither of these credits felt obligated to contact me - or, they contacted the mysterious - address to which the bill belonged - ; on top of that, they changed the total of the debt from $710.00 to the obligatory amount of $840.00 - for their hard work, I presume ). - the final knife in the fight, AFNI has been in contact with me since - -, offering a settlement to a debt I had n't been aware of. They seem to be the - in the bunch to actually locate me and inform me of this debt, though I 'm not even certain that I am the - - they 're looking for, as I can not get a hard copy of the original bill and debt - presumably because that debt belongs to someone that lives in -. I find everything about this debt to be fraudulent, from the fact that I can not see a copy of the bill and its contents adding up to such a massive sum for a phone bill, to the numerous negligent creditors that have tossed the bill around, to the final creditor that has placed it on my credit score - as of - -, - years after the supposed debt was accumulated ) and offered settlement. There is a massive negligence in the way this account and its debt has been handled.
