U.S. Bancorp Credit card department,
USBank closed my - credit card without warning. On talking to a USBank representative, they informed me that card closures for any reason meant that any rewards points ( already earned or pending ) in my account were forfeit. Prior to this, I received an email from USBank targeting me for extra points for spending more money in the holiday season. Also, their own literature touts spending $10.00 's of thousands of dollars in order to get the annual fee waived, yet another inducement to spend more money on their card. For the record, I had made only - purchases in the month, had not exceeded my credit limit, nor had any late payments. I believe their marketing and policies to be unfair as it deceptively encourages consumers to spend to earn rewards points and that any and all points may be seized at USBank 's whims. Since USBank refuses to allow me to redeem the points that I earned according to their own terms & conditions and I was recently made aware of the CFPB, I am writing to seek relief.
