I received repeated phone calls on my cell phone in - from a debt collection firm regarding a bank account, that I closed, with a little over a $2.00 balance, which was held at US Bank. Apparently US Bank did not close my account and kept my account open. US Bank then proceeded to charge me an account maintenance fee of $4.00. This $4.00 maintenance fee, that actually never existed when I had the account open, overdrafted my account. US Bank then proceeded to charge me an overdraft fee, among many other fees. I never received any notice in the mail from US Bank that any of this was even happening. Eventually, over $170.00 later to be exact, US Bank sent my account to collections with an outside company. I then received non-stop phone calls everyday from an unknown number. When I finally answered the unknown caller, the person on the phone was extremely rude, demanded that I pay the amount immediately, and refused to acknowledge that one, I closed the account, and -, that I filed bankruptcy. The harassing phone calls then stopped, only after I informed the debt collector that I would be filing harassment charges if they did n't stop. - years have passed, and most recently, over the last - weeks now, I have been receiving phone calls almost everyday. My number has changed - or - times since the last harassing phone calls, so I am not sure why/how this debt collector keeps finding my number to harass me. Today I gave them my attorney 's name and my bankruptcy case number, and I am hoping this will resolve their issues.
