Credit monitoring or identity protection problem cancelling or closing account

Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem cancelling or closing account California
Late - or early - I opened an Experian account to monitor or credit score as we were preparing to buy a home. Once we purchased our home in - - shortly after we canceled all credit monitoring accounts, end of - - at the latest. Unbeknownst to me, each month for the past - months Experian has been charging my checking account $17.00 a month. As a small number the activity went unnoticed. -/-/- I called Experian to discuss the situation to which they now finally cancelled the account and stated that they never received such information to cancel the account. I asked the rep/supervisor to review the activity to verify when the last time the account was accessed, to which he stated -. And as I asked him, why would I pay for a service and not use it over the past - years? Because the assumption was made that the account was canceled. For what it 's worth, I remember vividly canceling said account - the amount hurdles one must cross to pinpoint the process to cancel account is ridiculous. Even at present day, there are no clear indicators on how to cancel your account without doing site search. The resolution of the call with the Experian supervisor was a canceling of the account and 1-month reimbursement. While recouping last 's month charge is nice, but it 's certainly laughable in the grand scheme of things when you 're looking roughly $450.00 worth of total charges. To sum up my - issues with Experian:1 ) Them dismissing my cancellation2 ) Inability for consumers to easily pinpoint how to cancel an account. all over the site - can sign-up but canceling is much more complex. It 'd be nice if a policy was sort-of set like email subscriptions, publishers must provide an easy to access un-subscribe function
