Prior to my monthly payment due date, I contacted the creditor to set up a payment to come out of my banking account on the due date.A few weeks after the due dates, I was receiving several calls from an unknown numbers and also several messages were left with my co workers at work regarding past due payment which was very embarrassing and put my job at risk. I contacted the creditor and informed them that a payment was scheduled and to, perhaps, be patient until it 'd go through and also to not ever call my job.After coming back from a 3 week vacation, I was told by co workers that this creditor had been calling everyday regarding my account being past due and which resulted in a verbal warning from my manager. I then noticed that the payment had never come out of my banking account. After contacting the creditor again, it was determined that - of the digits from my banking account was missing prompting to the payment not going through.Correction was made on the phone and, afraid that this may occur again, I decided to pay off the remaining balance while I was on the phone


I decided to dispute the reporting on my credit files. The creditor declined to remove the late payment as well as removing the comment closed by consumer request '' because I never requested to close the account. I then decided to contact the creditor directly by mail and requested to remove the late payment.The creditor informed me that they have conducted an investigation and that there have no mistake, therefore declined to remove the late payment from my credit files. I then challenged the creditor to go back and review all prior phone conversations and my request was also declined.
