PNC Bank Bank account or service department,
Other bank product/service Using a debit or ATM card Indiana
I use, because I am offered no option, a debit card managed by PNC Bank for the unemployment compensation I currently receive from the state of Indiana. I have no desire to ever use a debit card. I believe they are intended to facilitate the fleecing of users in as many ways as possible as evidenced by the initial practice of banks to allow users to exceed the available balance only to be charged exorbitant overdraft fees for having exceeded the available balance. There is, apparently, a charge of - cents automatically deducted from my balance should I dare to call the - number listed on the card, even when just to use the automated system to verify I have kept proper track of the balance. When I discovered - cents had been deducted from my balance, I called the number on the card and spoke with an operator. For this I was charged another - cents. I was told, effectively, 'too bad ' when I argued the charge was NOT disclosed on the card where the phone number appears and nor had I been made aware of it at any time in the past. I said this constituted fraud and I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told no. '' When I did not give up and asked repeatedly to speak with someone in a position of authority, she hung up on me.
