GE Capital Retail Credit card department,
I have a TJ- mastercard through GE Capital. I did n't sign up for or request to receive e-Statements. However, I somehow was told I did. This happened when I got a paper statement from a collection agency As soon as I realized that the payment was missed, I asked them why and they said I signed up for e Statements. I did n't. The email address they had on file was n't even mine. I was able to get them to reduce but not forgive the late payment fee. It did n't occur to me that I would be rated - days late. Now they are telling me it 's my fault it was late since I should 've remembered I owed them. This --late is the only blemish on my credit report. I was an error on both parties - - I guess I should 've remembered and mailed a payment ... but they still had the incorrect email address and I did n't opt in to the e-statement.
