I took out a private student loan with Citibank ( - ) in - to attend graduate school at -. Upon completion, I began to pay back the loan ( in - - ). There were - private loans total with -. In - -, Citi sold - of the loans to -. I began to make payments to -, however in late -, due to financial problems, I was unable to make the ballooned payments. I eventually worked out a payment plan with - in - -. We set up a repayment plan for both of my loans with -. - withdrew directly from my checking account to post towards the loan. However, in -, while still on my repayment plan, Citi took - of the loans back and I was not notified by either - or Citi. During the past year ( from - - - ), I was unaware that Citi had taken the loan back. - continued to withdraw money from my account for the repayment plan. I was also still paying back a loan with Citi and I never saw the second loan on my loan account. It was n't until I ran a credit


Charge Off '' loan with Citi. When I contacted them to ask why, they said they took the loan back from - due to delinquency ( even though I already had an agreement in place with - ) to pay the loan. Even though Citi took the loan back, they never contacted me for an entire year regarding the loan. When I spoke to Citi 's Recovery Department, they informed me that they would send the loan to a collections agency to process. I asked if I could just arrange a payment plan with them now since I was never aware of the loan. They said no. In -, I was contacted by a collection agency to begin collecting on my loan. I am in complete disbelief that neither - nor Citi notified me of a loan that was in limbo for an entire year. Now, it has ruined my credit. I have submitted a letter requesting that Citi take back the loan from the collection agency and process it themselves and allow me the opportunity to make the payment directly to Citi. I have also requested that they reverse all the negative action on my credit report.
