Credit card Taking/threatening an illegal action Seized/Attempted to seize property Florida
The creditor, Midland Credit Management - Inc., formerly Asset Acceptance , LLC, garnished my bank account on -/-/- and took $700.00. I filed a claim for an exemption in the case under Florida law. The money that was garnished was being held by Midland Credit Management - Inc. while the claim for exemption was pending. On -/-/- at the hearing for the claim for exemption, we reached a settlement agreement that I would pay $100.00 per month. The money that was garnished was to be returned to me. The money that was garnished was never returned to me, and I was never given credit towards my outstanding balance for the $700.00.. I have been calling the company for two months now and no one at the company can tell me why my money has not been returned or credited. I have met my monthly payment obligations of $100.00 per month pursuant to the settlement agreement. I want the $700.00 returned to me. I am aware that Asset Acceptance , LLC was sued by the FTC in -/-/-. Meanwhile, they have opened a new company called Midland Credit Management , LLC at the same address in -, MI.
